Three Lies
Keeping You From Your Freedom
You don’t have to leave to be free.
About 15 quiet minutes. Bring a cup of something warm.
There is a kind of stuck that does not look dramatic.
You are functioning. You are responsible. You are showing up.
And yet, something feels off. Not broken. Not crisis-level. Just quietly disconnected from the life you thought you were building toward.
I know this place. I have lived it. And in my work with women, I have heard the same three lies over and over again. These are the stories we tell ourselves that sound reasonable, even noble, but quietly keep us from our freedom.
This guide names three of the most common, most quietly damaging lies I hear from capable women every day, and offers the truth waiting on the other side of each one.
With love and faith,
“When things change, I’ll finally feel free.”
This one is seductive because it feels like patience. Like wisdom. Like you are simply waiting for the right conditions.
But there is a difference between patience and postponement. Between waiting well and waiting indefinitely.
The truth is that many women who believe this lie have been waiting for years. Waiting for the children to grow. For the relationship to settle. For the career to stabilize. For the season to shift.
And the conditions keep changing, but the feeling of freedom never quite arrives.
That is the lie at work. It convinces you that freedom is something that happens to you. Something you receive when the outside world finally cooperates.
But freedom is not a destination. It is not a reward for endurance.
Take a breath. When you are ready, see what is true.
Freedom does not begin when your circumstances change. It begins when you stop waiting for them to.
The life you are living right now is the one your freedom lives inside.
You do not have to dismantle your life to find your freedom. You simply need to stop handing the key to someone else.
Just for you. Nothing you write here is saved or sent. At the end, you can copy your answers to keep.
Choose one small thing today that you have been postponing until conditions are right. Do it now. Not because the conditions changed, but because you decided to.
Freedom grows with every cycle.
Patience becomes numbness. You stop feeling trapped because you stop feeling much at all.
You feel present. Alive inside your own life, not waiting for it to begin.
“I just need to push through a little longer.”
This lie wears the mask of strength. And for many capable, responsible women, it has worked, until it didn’t.
You have pushed through before. You pushed through the hard season, the exhausting year, the relationship that took everything you had. And you survived. So the lesson became: push harder. Stay longer. Keep going.
But at some point, pushing through stops being courage and starts being avoidance.
It becomes a way of not having to look at what is actually happening inside you.
Sometimes what feels like strength is really self-abandonment in a more respectable outfit.
Take a breath. When you are ready, see what is true.
Strength is not always found in pushing through. Sometimes strength is found in telling the truth.
In noticing what something is costing you. In honoring your limits before they become a breaking point.
Freedom begins when you stop measuring your worth by how much you can carry.
You are allowed to stop. Not to give up, but to get honest. That honesty is where your freedom begins.
Just for you. Nothing you write here is saved or sent. At the end, you can copy your answers to keep.
Ask yourself today: What am I forcing that no longer feels true? Write down one thing you are ready to stop white-knuckling.
Freedom grows with every cycle.
You become impressive on the outside and exhausted on the inside.
You feel relief. The kind that comes when you stop performing strength and begin living from it.
“I should be grateful. Wanting more means something is wrong with me.”
This lie keeps many women silent.
You look at your life and think: I have so much. I should not feel this way. Other people have it harder. I should be grateful.
And gratitude matters. But gratitude was never meant to become a gag.
You can love parts of your life and still ache for something deeper, truer, more alive. You can be thankful and still feel unfinished.
That quiet knowing is not selfishness. It is not ingratitude. It is not failure.
It may be the most honest part of you speaking.
Take a breath. When you are ready, see what is true.
Gratitude and longing can live in the same heart.
You can be grateful for what you have built and still know something is missing. That knowing is not a problem. It is an invitation.
You are not wrong for wanting more peace, more clarity, more truth, or more of yourself.
You are not wrong for wanting more. You are not broken. You are not ungrateful. You are a woman who has not yet given herself permission to be fully free.
Just for you. Nothing you write here is saved or sent. At the end, you can copy your answers to keep.
Tell one trusted person (or write in your journal) one thing you genuinely want for your life. Not what you think you should want. What you actually want. Say it plainly. Let it matter.
Freedom grows with every cycle.
Gratitude becomes performance. And underneath it, a quiet grief for the woman you never let yourself fully become.
You feel permission. To want what you want. To be who you actually are.
The walls are not your circumstances.
They are the story you are living inside them.
You don’t have to leave to be free.
Freedom in Place™ is for the woman who is done being told the answer is somewhere else.
The answer is not a new city. It is not a new relationship. It is not a new version of you built from scratch.
It is this version of you, more fully yourself than you have been in years.
In my work, freedom often begins by seeing clearly, shifting perspective, choosing honestly, and integrating what is true.
Here is what you named today. Read it slowly. It matters.
